Pallavi Jha is the Chairperson & Managing Director of Dale Carnegie Training India

Pallavi has diversified exposure to various management practices in areas such as training and development, HR, consulting and business restructuring, covering a wide range of industries from Engineering, Construction, FMCG, Media and Financial Services.

She has singularly led the India operations into the fastest growing region for Dale Carnegie Training, winning several global awards for service and sales excellence.

She has been a vocal spokesperson for industry associations, and has chaired and moderated panel discussions involving India's leading business leaders. She has played a pioneering role in setting up India's first Finishing School focused on soft -skills training, the missing ingredient in the talent development and employability challenge confronting Indian industry. Today her company has a focused practice on employability and livelihoods training through its India Futures division.

She has been a keynote speaker and a panel member in various fora on business, HR, training and leadership. She is an active member of the Confederation of Indian Industry and has held offices of the Chairperson for Maharashtra Council, CII and the Skills Development Committee for CII, Western Region, the National Council on Skills Development, CII and its National Sub-committee on School Education. Currently she is Co-chair for Indian Women’s Network, a CII initiative aimed at engaging, enabling and empowering women. Additionally, she has been part of women's groups, which has encouraged first generation women entrepreneurs into taking business initiatives.

Earlier, she was Executive Director of India's leading construction company, HCC, an erstwhile Walchand Group company before starting off her own ventures. She also worked briefly in market research at Feedback Ventures and Procter & Gamble.

Pallavi is an MBA from Syracuse University, New York and a graduate in humanities from St Xavier's College, Mumbai.

Sanjay Jha is the Executive Director of the world-famous Dale Carnegie Training operations in India, which has a global experience of having worked with over 400 of the Top Fortune 500 companies. In India, Dale Carnegie has worked with over 3000 corporate firms, multinational companies, public sector, government and NGOs and trained more than 310,000 Dale Carnegie graduates in the last ten years. His area of professional interest and management science specialization includes leadership development, change management, corporate culture and ethics, business strategy and emotional intelligence. Sanjay is a Motivational speaker, an Executive Coach and Mentor who has advised top management, including CEO’s as well as senior political leaders. Jha is also the National Spokesperson of the Indian National Congress Party since 2013 and represents his political party in TV debates and panel discussions. He is the President of All India Professionals Congress, Maharashtra.

Sanjay has often received an overwhelming feedback and recognition for his high-quality training and leadership talk. He is one of the senior leaders in the worldwide Dale Carnegie Training network, and has addressed global audiences in New York, Washington, Los Angeles, Chicago, Singapore, Bermuda, Taiwan, Mexico and Toronto. Jha has addressed managers and leaders at ICICI Pru, TEDx, IBM, Axis Bank, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Oracle, British Gas, Brookings, The Doon School, Toastmaster, St. Xavier’s College, Dainik Bhaskar, Crompton Greaves, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Bajaj Electricals, SHRM, United Nations Young Achiever’s Conclave, SRCC, IIT, Standard Chartered, Tata Motors, CII, IMC, Venture Capital Association, NHRD, Apple, Bharat Petroleum, Citibank, Mahindra & Mahindra etc. He has conducted several corporate programs focused on executive development, advised companies on corporate image management, done executive coaching and consulted with companies. He has also addressed business schools, industry conferences and knowledge symposiums, and has also been engaged frequently as a strategic consultant/ advisor on training to a leading political party.

He has made several contributions to mainline news and business dailies and magazines such as Business Standard, Indian Express, Financial Express, Hindustan Times, Mid-Day, Tehelka, Rediff.com and The Huffington Post, and appears regularly to air his views on print and electronic media. He is one of India’s top influencers on social media like Twitter.

He has founded one of the world’s leading internet portals called CricketNext.Com which was ranked once amongst Alexa Top 1000 sites globally, and is now part of the Network 18 media Group.

Prior to starting Dale Carnegie, Sanjay was instrumental in setting up the private sector mutual fund industry in India, having worked as a Senior Vice President with ITC Threadneedle Asset Management ( part of BAT plc, UK) and as a Vice President , Alliance Capital ( New York, USA). His career in banking included stints with both Bank of America and ANZ Grindlays Bank where he worked in NRI marketing and operation services, product-technology training, retail banking and branch management. He started his career in sales with Bharat Petroleum.

Jha completed his MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur and his Master’s in Economics from Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, University of Pune. He graduated with distinction in Economics from Fergusson College, Pune.

Sanjay has also written a cricket anthology titled 11—Triumphs, Trials and Turbulence in Indian cricket, two cricket quiz books and published his first collection of poems. Jha has recently authored a book on leadership called The Superstar Syndrome (The Making Of A Champion), co-authored with Dr. Myra White, who is a Professor at the Harvard Medical School. This book was launched in August 2013 and featured in the Crossword Bestseller list.

 

Mr. M. N. Bhagwat - Director

Mr. Bhagwat did his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical & Electricals engineering from the University of Pune, M.S. (Mechanical Engineering) from University of IIinois, USA and Diploma in Business Management from the prestigious Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. 

He worked in various senior positions both in India and abroad, which includes Blue Star, Yokogawa Blue Star, Total Mechanical Systems Inc., USA, Skidmore, Owings & Merril, Chicago, USA and Managing Director of Tata Honeywell Limited. He is currently advisor to Tata Sons Limited and heading the Corporate Assurance Group, which administers the Tata Brand equity and the Tata Code of Conduct. He is Chairman of the Audit Committee of Walchand PeopleFirst Ltd, formerly, Walchand Capital Ltd.

Mr. V.K. Verma - Director

Mr. V.K. Verma is a veteran in the HR field contributing over three and a half decades in seeking creative and home-grown solutions to complex issues in order to see organizations excel. A B.E. in Electrical Engg and a Post Graduate in Business Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur, V.K. Verma as Head of Corporate HR at Tata Motors, had been instrumental in the restructuring of its workforce and the turnaround thereafter of the organization, a feat that has been included as a case study in IIM, Ahmadabad.

He has also been associated with CII’s Training Committee at the National level for well over a decade and was Chairman of the Training Committee of CII at the Regional level. He represented Tata Motors on the Society of IIM (Ahmadabad). He was also a member of the advisory Committee of Maharashtra Government’s Welfare Board. He continues to be a visiting faculty to several Management institutes.

He is amongst the select few HR professionals in India to have established Talent Management System with fast track options using Assessment & Development Centre Technologies.

He was selected as Business Today’s Growth Managers in 2003 featuring in the magazine’s cover story. He was also conferred the Super Achiever Award 2003 by the Indira Group of Institutes, Pune.

He is associated with the Work Level project of Tata Group currently.

 

Dr. V.N. Gupchup - Director

Dr. V. N. Gupchup is a Civil and Structural Engineer with degrees of Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from the University of Bombay in 1958 and Master of Science & Doctor of Science in Civil Engineering obtained in 1959 & 1963 respectively, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in USA.

He has been active in the field of Technical Education for more than thirty five years and has provided leadership in this field in the State of Maharashtra. He has contributed to various aspects of the development of Technical Education at the National level through his association with the All India Council for Technical education and the University Grants Commission.

He was the Principal of VJTI from January 1983 to June 1992 and May 1995 to January 1997, when he retired after spending nearly three decades in the field of Technical Education.

He was the Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Mumbai from June 1992 to May 1995. He was also the Chairman of the 'National Board of Accreditation' set up by the All India Council for Technical Education in India from July 2000 till June 2003.

He has presented invited lectures at several Universities in the USA including Massachusetts Institute Of Technology (MIT), Northwestern University, Drexel University, Kansas State University, Texas State University, And Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville.

He continues to be an active member on various academic bodies of the University of Mumbai, AICTE and UGC. He is also a Director on several company boards and consults on a wide range of academic and engineering areas.

Rajeev Dubey is the Group President (HR & Corporate Services) & CEO (After-Market Sector), Member of the Group Executive Board, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. His key focus areas are Human Capital initiatives of the Group, the After Market businesses whose CEO’s report to him, Group Communications, Government Relations, CSR and Infrastructure. He is the Chairman of Mahindra Insurance Brokers, Mahindra Steel Service Centres and Mahindra First Choice Services, and serves on the Boards of several Group companies including Ssangyong Motors Korea, Mahindra Intertrade, Mahindra First Choice Wheels and Mahindra Retail. He is Chairman of the Group CSR Council and the Corporate Governance Cell, and a Member of the Governing Council of the Mahindra Institute of Quality and the Governing Board of Mahindra Ecole Centrale.

He joined Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. in January 2004 after a career spanning 29 years in the Tata Group, which he joined in 1975 as a member of the TAS, the central managerial cadre of the Tata Group. He spent 21 years with Tata Steel, and the next 7 years as CEO first of Tata Metaliks and then of Tata Rallis India.

He studied Economics at St. Stephens College, Delhi University, where he was ranked first in the University, and at the Delhi School of Economics, where he received a National Scholarship. He went on to do his MBA from the Yale School of Management, USA as a J N Tata scholar, and was selected as a Distinguished Alumnus of the School.

Rajeev is a core member of the Council of Global Advisors of the Yale School of Management (Yale SOM), USA and is the immediate Past President of the National Human Resource Development Network (NHRDN) and the Employers’ Federation of India (EFI).

Mr. Uday Yeshwant Phadke - Director

Mr. Uday Phadke, 67 years, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Law from Mumbai University.

He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

Mr. Phadke had been with Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) since 1973. He was President –Finance, Legal & Financial services sector and a member of the Group Executive Board at M & M & thereafter “Principal Advisor-Finance “at M & M. He retired on 31st August 2015.

He was a Director on the Board of certain companies in the Mahindra Group such as Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Limited, Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd., Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited, Mahindra World City Developers Limited, etc. He was also on Audit Committee of these companies.

He has received CFO awards from various organizations for excellence in different areas of financial management including award as Best CFO in the manufacturing sector from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

He was a member of the SEBI Committee on Disclosures and Accounting Standards. He has been Chairman of the Direct Taxes Committee of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry and was on the Accounting Standards Board of the ICAI, as a nominee of CII. He has also been a member of the National Advisory Committee of Accounting Standards constituted under the Companies Act, as a nominee of CII.

He is currently an independent director on the board of IDFC AMC Trustee Company & on the Board of Kotak Infrastructure Debt Fund Limited. He is also a Governing Council member of Banking Codes & Standards Board of India.

Mr. H. N. Shrinivas - Director

Worked with THE TAJ GROUP OF HOTELS for 25+ years growing up to Sr. Vice President – Total Quality and Business Excellence (Corporate Quality Head) and Sr. Vice President – Human Resources

People practice function at Taj successfully built a customer centric work culture through innovative employee engagement practices.  This was acknowledged by Gallup Inc.US, by listing Taj among the top 15 companies in the world; was the recipient of Global Great Workplace Award for 4 consecutive years.  This journey of building benchmark HR practices at Taj has become a Harvard case study.  Taj hotels were also recognised with Tata Business Excellence Award (based on Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award) for achievement of highest standards of service quality, employee engagement and customer excellence.

Lead the relief and rehabilitation operation for terror victim families in the city of Mumbai post 26/11 terror attack.

Worked with Hewlett-Packard - Global Delivery India Centre as Director – Human Resources for 3 years managing end to end HR for a workforce of about 10,000 employees mostly software engineers.

Worked as Advisor Tata Sons on a major Skill Development project that was conceptualised by the then Chairman, to support and facilitate vocational skills initiative in India and achieve a target of 1 million under privileged youth trained vocationally for gainful employment.

Currently working with Tata Trusts and Tata Institute of Social Sciences on major projects of Skill Development and helping youth from weaker sections of the society to get trained for livelihoods and jobs.
